Love

Malcolm X Academy Saturday School is a community freedom school modeled after the Black Panther Party’s Oakland Community School.

Our mission is to create a liberated learning space for young scholars. We believe in the power of love. We understand the importance of education as a major stepping stone towards collective liberation. We believe that our people deserve to learn and grow in spaces committed to serving their basic needs and developing their skills for the future.

What Families Should Know

Malcolm X Academy was founded with the goal of providing our community with a holistic community school that exists outside of the colonial public school system. Our students and families deserve to learn and grow in community schools committed to serving their basic needs and developing their skills for the future. We believe in the power of love and understand the importance of education as a major stepping stone toward freedom for Black & Brown youth globally.

Most importantly, we believe in carrying on the mission of the Black Panther Party’s 5th Point which states “We Want Education for Our People That Exposes The True Nature Of This Decadent American Society. We Want Education That Teaches Us Our True History And Our Role in the Present-Day Society..” In building the Malcolm X Academy and all its community programs, we are asserting that education is key to providing Afrikan and Indigenous students with neighborhoods free of colonial, carceral, and inherently racist systems.

UPCOMING EVENTS

Malcolm X Academy officially launches in January 2027! All interested families must attend at least one MXA Interest Meeting to be considered for participation. Join us to learn more about our program, family expectations, and how we can work together to build a stronger community.

“Here is our chance to act together to resolve a vile situation whereby education and learning got confused for each other and children and childhood got colonized.”
